Apple is No longer The Best Brand of Notebook:
One of the most relevant publications in the world, when it comes to laptops, is Laptop Magazine. Since 2010, they publish a ranking with the best brands of the year.
Since 2013, Apple ranked first, but in 2016 fell to sixth, behind Lenovo, Asus, Dell, HP and Acer. Laptop Magazine claims that the decision to only use USB-C ports on its Pro laptops hit the qualifying products and affected their reception by consumers.
“MacBook are slim, powerful and well-built, but you’re going to need a lot of money and adapters,” the statement said.
They criticized the introduction of the TouchBar because it did not provide such significant value added as to justify the increase, on average, in products.
Laptop Magazine took into account aspects such as the scores obtained by the products in the reviews, the design, the support offered by the pages, the innovation, the value, the quantity of options available and the guarantee.
Lenovo was in first place with 90 of 100 possible points. Highlights include battery life of laptops, cutting edge designs and borderless displays, as well as innovations such as the Halo keyboard of the Yoga Book. He achieved a perfect score in the innovation section.
In second place is Asus, with 86 points. It highlights the relationship between the quality of the components and their price, as well as their remarkable work in the design of the equipment and the manufacture of powerful machines for ‘gamers’. It took a perfect score in the design area.
The third place went to Dell, with 83 points. It highlights its line of notebooks, led by the XPS 13, the XPS 15 and the Alienware line. They were amazed by the introduction of a screen with Oled technology in the Alienware 13 model. It achieved perfect scores on available value and options and on its warranty model.
HP was in fourth place with 82 points. They positively value their line of ‘ultrabooks’ and their scheme of guarantee. No item got a perfect score, but the design, the value and the numerous options were the highlight.
Fifth place is Acer, with 78 points. The highlight of the brand is its support (better than any other in the world of PC) and the relationship between quality and price of its product range.
In sixth place, also with 78 points, is Apple. He lost points in design, innovation and variety of options. However, it was the brand with the best scores in support and warranty.
After these brands we find MSI, Razer, Samsung and Microsoft. The Redmond firm was the worst of the 10 proposals evaluated, especially for its low score in the areas of innovation, design and purchase options.
